CHASE DISTILLERY

When farmer William Chase decided to make a product using potatoes grown at his farm in Hereford, Britain’s most famous vodka was born. 250 British potatoes go into every bottle of Chase vodka, making this a true field to bottle product.

The potatoes are peeled, mashed, and fermented before being distilled in two huge copper stills, known as Fat Betty and Maximus. Once distilled to a headache-inducing 96%ABV, the liquor is diluted to a more manageable 40% ABV and bottled on site. The whole process from field to bottle takes up to two weeks.

As well as the original potato vodka, Chase produces a number of flavoured vodkas, including English rhubarb, aged Seville marmalade and a wonderful oak smoked flavour.

Chase Gin is also produced at the farm, and unlike many other gin producers who buy in a ready-made neutral grain spirit, Chase gins are made entirely from scratch. This means you get all the flavours of the ‘terroir’, just as you would a fine bottle of wine. Ten botanicals are added to create a smooth, balanced spirit with an enticing juniper, spice and citrus flavour.
