THREE CHOIRS

This multi award-winning vineyard started out in 1973 with one third of an acre planted as a trail just outside Newent in Gloucestershire. The vineyard now boasts some 75 acres in Gloucestershire and 20 acres at its sister site in Hampshire producing around 200,000 bottles of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines each year.

The vineyard’s success has been helped by the boom in English wine, but it’s also down to the knowledge of Three Choirs winemaker Martin Fowke. The vineyard is developing and replanting with grape varieties that are more suitable to our climate, using cool climate techniques, similar to winemaking in New Zealand.

The vineyard’s flagship wines are Siegerrebe and Bacchus, both single varietal wines, while blended wines, such as Coleridge Hill, produce consistent wines annually. With new branding reflecting the local countryside, and continued development of the tourism side of the business, Three Choirs Vineyard looks set to keep impressing the judges at the wine awards for many years to come!
