GLOUCESTER BILTONG

A high-protein, tasty but healthy South African snack made here in Gloucestershire? Yes please! That has been the reception from Gloucester Biltong customers since Paul first started creating his biltong ever since being introduced to it by a Zimbabwean friend.

Although biltong can be made with most meats (including ostrich!), Paul chose to create his using British silverside beef steaks. Then steaks are marinated in South African herbs and spices and then hung to dry in specially imported biltong driers. When ready, the steaks are thinly sliced into snackable sizes, ready to be packaged for market. 

As far as healthy snacking goes, you can’t get much better, with a whopping 51g protein in just 100g biltong. There are 4 flavours to choose from (all gluten free and with no msg) as well as a range of Droewors, 100% beef sausage bites.
