PURITY BREWING COMPANY

Established in 2005 by James Minkin and Paul Halsey, Purity was set up with the mission to brew great beer ‘without prejudice, with a conscience and with a consistency and attention to detail that is second to none’. Well, they’ve done that and some!

Based on a working farm in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, the brewery takes every care to look after its natural environment. Waste water has gone into creating a wetland system, spent grains feed the farm’s cattle, new technology reduces the brewery’s energy consumption and an on-site canning plant reduced beer miles and fuel. This commitment to sustainability has won the brewery two Insider Made UK awards – UK Sustainable Manufacturer of the Year and Midlands Sustainable Manufacturer.

The beers themselves have also won their fair share of awards and each has a story to tell. There’s Ubu, named after the brewery dog, Bunny Hop, after the founders’ encounter with rabbits on the way to discovering the farm, Saddleblack, a dedication to the founders’ love of cycling and Jimbo, named after original co-founder James.
