THE PUDDING SHOP

There’s something so comforting about a traditional steamed pudding it’s a shame we don’t see more of them around. Thankfully, Dorothy and Don Bridges have addressed that problem with their impressive range of puddings that include old school favourites such as Spotted Dick and Sticky Toffee. They have also developed their own flavours, including Black & Blue, a mix of fresh blueberries swirled into a steamed sponge, in a blackcurrant sauce, and exclusively for Warner’s, Jaffa Cake, an orange steamed pudding in a chocolate orange sauce.

The company was created over 20 years ago when Dorothy and Don were looking to indulge their love of food after moving to Upton-upon-Severn in their retirement. What started out as a few local farmers’ markets grew into a fully-fledged the business, with an average of 300 puddings being turned out every day.

The puddings are all made by hand to recipes that have been handed down through the family – the award-winning Christmas pudding is created using the recipe that Don’s gran’s gran originally created. As a family, puddings have always featured heavily on the menu so it was no surprise when daughter Justine joined the business to continue the family tradition.
