TWO FARMERS

Crisps that are good for the planet was the thinking behind this innovative, sustainable crisp brand. It was launched by ‘two farmers’, Mark Green and Sean Mason, who wanted to create a range of crisps in fully recyclable packaging of crisps that put Herefordshire on the food map while protecting the beautiful Herefordshire countryside at the same time.

The potatoes for the crisps are all grown on their Herefordshire farms using varieties such as Lady Claire, Lady Rosetta and Taurus, known for their excellent fry colour and quality. As the potatoes are all stored, graded, fried then packaged as crisps on the farm, food miles are kept at a minimum and a lot of the energy used in the process is from renewable sources.

Where these crisps really revolutionise the market is in the fully compostable packet that they are packaged in. Made from sustainable cellulose and using plant-based inks and glues, the crisp packets naturally break down in the compost bin or garden. They are also available to buy in airtight tins too.

There are six tried and tested flavours to choose from, all made using ingredients sourced from the farm, or in collaboration with other Herefordshire and local food specialists.
