COMMUNITY DONATES TO WORCESTERSHIRE CANCER AID

Worcestershire Cancer Aid, based in Upton-upon-Severn, is celebrating it’s 50th year in 2024, and we were delighted to present Chairperson Tracey Russell and Trustee Brenda Till with a cheque from our Community Savings Scheme.

The charity is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers and aims to help cancer sufferers and their families by alleviating some of the financial burdens experienced if someone is unable to work due to their own ill-health or may have to stay at home to care for a sick child or relative. The grants made can help to fund things such as specialist equipment, bedding or travel expenses. Our donation of £524 will help support more than one local person.

The Warner’s Community Savings supports local groups and charities by giving customers the opportunity to donate a community token to their chosen charity every time they shop and spend over £10. Every six months Warner’s turns the tokens into cash and presents it to the local group or charity.
