A TREAT FOR VALENTINE’S!
Dear customer,
Congratulations - we’ve made it through the longest month of the year! And, if you’ve been doing Dry January, we’ve got just the local supplier to toast your success - Deer Park Wines.
2026 is set to be a booming year for English wines, thanks in part to last year’s exceptionally warm spring which led to a bumper harvest. But it’s also part of a general trend, with domestic wine representing the UK’s fastest growing agricultural sector. Since 2005, there has been a 510% increase in the number of British hectares under vine, with over 1000 UK vineyards now in operation.
At Warner’s we have been proud to work with local vineyards such as Three Choirs and Woodchester Valley for a number of years, and now we welcome Deer Park Wines with their well-regarded wines.
Based in Eckington in Worcestershire, Deer Park Wines is an award-winning vineyard, owned and run by Mark Steele and his wife Caron. The first vine was planted in 2016 and ten years later, there are now 5000 vines planted on three plots of land on Bredon Hill. The Cotswold limestone mixed soil and the orientation of the vineyards mean that Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes thrive, leading to world class recognition from prestigious awarding bodies such as Decanter and the Wine GB Awards.
Why not celebrate a special Valentine’s Night on 14th February with one of the following very special bottles:
Deer Park Special Reserve: Created from a blend of the best grapes, this aromatic wine has essences of tropical fruits on the nose, followed by a warm balanced palate bursting with melon, sweet grapefruit and a hint of pineapple. The gentle underlying acidity and minerality keeps your tastebuds on their toes with a gratifying and seductive finish. This wine is perfect if you want to show off your cooking skills - it has been specially blended to complement a range of dishes, from creamy chicken dishes to exotic dishes such as thai green curry.
Deer Park Solaris: Despite the adversity of the 2024 season, this is a remarkable vintage - a limited release that captures the essence of aromatic Solaris grapes at their best. Expect ripe pear and apricot aromas, a bright, harmonious acidity, and a gentle touch of oak adding depth and character. The finish is long, elegant, and irresistibly moreish. Pair it with poultry dishes, creamy blue cheeses, or simply enjoy it on its own.
Deer Park Bacchus: Exclusively from cool-climate Bacchus grapes, this dry white exhibits a subtle intensity and finesse, not unlike a Cabernet Sauvignon. Discover notes of distant soft citrus and elderflower on the nose followed by flavours of apple and apricot. This is a well-balanced wine with a well-defined compelling mineral finish and makes a fantastic aperitif or partner to smoked salmon, fish and light chicken dishes.
Deer Park Rose: This outstanding 2023 vintage is a blend of Pinot Noir at 85% and Chardonnay at 15%. The Chardonnay helps elevate the finish on this Rosé, making it simply irresistible! A tantalising hint of cheesecake on the nose develops into light English summer fruits and strawberries, and then evolves into flavours of sweet grapefruit and exotic fruits backed by underlying stone fruits. A long lingering finish of soft intensity, perfect for lingering over shellfish and chicken dishes.
